Y es que el robot siempre se muestra receptivo a la conversación, pero no puede incitar a que se cometa el acoso, pues según las leyes españolas esto en sí mismo constituye un delito.

BabyBot sostiene la conversación hasta que el presunto acosador empieza a realizar preguntas como: “¿Qué talla de sujetador llevas?” o “¿Podría verte desnudo?”, que ocasionan que se disparen las alarmas del sistema, archivándose la charla en una base de datos e incorporándose al usuario a un registro de presuntos acosadores.

Sus desarrolladores destacan que podría tener uno particular (colegios, institutos, padres) a través de un Software que se instala en el equipo desde el que se accede a la Red y que bloquearía el contacto entre un menor y los “cyberacosadores” registrados en la base de datos. Y destacan su interés en colocar los datos obtenidos por Baby Bot a disposición de la Policía y las Fuerzas de Seguridad del Estado.

Hasta el momento, el robot ha sido probado utilizando SecondLife, pero sus creadores aseguran que puede interactuar en otras redes sociales, y que de hecho están investigando junto a Tuenti la forma en que cree perfiles de forma autónoma, busque amigos e interactúe con el resto de la Red.
